For this project I wanted to continue to experiment with mixing audio and images. I took a poem being read and added images. I think this could be a good introductory or part I of a project--taking an existing poem and adding images. This would be a good method to introduce students to the tools and possibilities but without getting too caught up on the content. Next, I can imagine spending time writing a poem/story and getting feedback/peer review then adding in the visual element.
I used creative commons photos from Flickr, audio from a podcast in iTunes and then iPhoto to create the slideshow.
This project would also have to involve a discussion about copyright and intellectual property. I think this may be a good way to frame this discussion--instead of talking about what not to do--have students create and then evaluate the project for copyright issues and then revise (e.g. record their own voices reading the poem, write their own poem, ask for copyright permission, etc.)

I enjoyed the slideshow and really liked your idea for the class project. The assignment you proposed would include so many different aspects that the students will benefit from! First, you will talk about what a “story” is (if the students decide to write a story, not a poem). Then, the students will be introduced to several tools; you used three different ones for your slideshow, and the students might use these as well. Also, the writing process along with peer review and the copyright discussion will all be part of the project. I would be excited if I were in your class!
