Beware of your assumptions of what students know
You would be shocked of what they ask at the reference desk—
Needs to be talked about—in more in depth than don’t plagiarize—students need training over time and throughout their careers
Use examples and tie to professional world
Talk about ways to use the web and ways to not use the web
Talk about Academic Integrity—have class come up with list of academic honesty violations that can be used in the class.

All good ideas! I am writing a paper on the topic of plagiarism and ESL students. I liked your suggestions. If you know of some great articles on this subject, let me know.
